Protective Gear

Hockey is sport with contact. So the players need to be protected from the puck or another player. After numerous injuries someone probably thought about making hockey equipment. The equipment protects every body part. The gear a hockey player should wear if he wants to minimize his chances of getting hurt is:

Hockey Helmet and Facemask

Gloves

Shin Pads Elbow Pads

Shoulder Pads   Hockey pants

 Jockstrap

Neck Protector

The physics involved in the gear is very simple,
-To redistribute all the energy on a bigger surface
-To redirect the force to places in the body that would hurt less
-Absorb the force like a spring with the foam in it.

Helmet:
The helmet is composed of energy-absorbing polymer foam lining and is covered with a impact-resistant polycarbonate polymer shell.

Facemask:
It is either a steel cage, or an impact-resistant polymer.

The pads and gloves:
The pads and gloves are mostly energy-absorbing polymer foam covered by some nylon or leather.
